Leeds PCT is currently finalising plans for a new GP-led Health Centre at the existing Burmantofts Health Centre. Burmantofts has been identified as an area that would benefit from better primary medical care services. The centre aims to open around December 2008. This is not a ‘polyclinic’; nor are NHS services being privatised. It will be a GP-led health centre, open 8am to 8 pm, 7 days a week, and offering routine bookable appointments and walk-in services. As well as serving local people, the centre will also treat commuters, full-time workers, and those who cannot get to their usual GP, for any reason.
