CLOSURE OF TETLEY BREWERY IN 2011

The closure of the Tetley Brewery in 2011 is a terrible blow. There has been a long history of beer-making on this site and the loss of skilled jobs will hurt, even though about a third of the workforce – in sales and IT – will be kept on. I will do all I can to help. I have spoken to the company and they have promised to support those staff affected in finding other employment between now and the planned closure date. I am talking to the trade unions about further steps and have asked Yorkshire Forward to assist.
